Taj Mahal, Agra is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This tomb is the biggest masterpiece of Mughal period built by great emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. The complete structure was inspired with the depth of the Indo-Islamic history of architectural elegance. Shah Jahan was an ardent man with great talent and creative architecture. He was the refined Muslim ruler who was experienced in creative art. His selection was utter unique and tried to make a living agenda on people’s mind. He selected the site along the Yamuna River to build it from where the tomb of Agra fort would be visible easily. After his death, this fort has been modified by his son.
The tragic story begins when Mumtaz Mahal took her last breath and last wish of Mumtaz Mahal to Emperor Shah Jahan was to create this magnificent tomb. She was died in 1631 at the age of 39 while delivering 14th child. Thus, Shah Jahan was decided to give it into a unique shape. This biggest monument took 22 years to be completed with the support of a work force of 20,000 workers and architects. The famous architect was Mohammed Hanif and Ustad Isa, a Persian. The total inlaid material for its construction was brought from Delhi. Additionally, Corals were brought from Arabia and garnets from the Bundlekhand region. In it, the most gorgeous palace was assigned to Queen Mumtaz that was embellished with precious stones to crown the queen of the palace.
